Volunteers' Afternoon Tea

Saturday 7th May 2022
You are warmly invited to join us for afternoon tea to find out a little more about Blush Cancer Care and what we do.

As you probably already know, Blush Cancer Care Inc. improves the lives of those diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families.  We rely on a mix of professionals and volunteers enable us to offer our support services to those affected by breast cancer in Toowoomba and the surrounding areas,

The Blush Events Committee is hosting a ‘Meet and Greet’ afternoon tea and information session at 415 Mackenzie St Middle Ridge on Saturday the 7th of May at 2pm. We would love to see as many as possible of our existing and prospective Volunteers at the afternoon tea.

The program will include:
The role of the Blush Events Committee and its members
Available roles within our committee
What it means to be a Blush Volunteer
Your thoughts and ideas about how Blush can work better

There is absolutely no pressure to become a Blush volunteer or committee member! This is an opportunity to find out and see if there's something of interest to you.

Below is a testimonial from one of our long term volunteers:
My name is Joanna.
I am a wife, mother, nurse, survivor and now a Volunteer.
I began my cancer journey in 2017 and what a journey it has been!
I immensely valued the care and support I received during this difficult time, and Blush Cancer Care played an enormous role in this.
The burden of cancer was eased by the great work of the volunteers; from right at the beginning the hospital care pack, the support throughout of the breast care nurses and to the recovery support with Fight back with Fitness group funded by Blush.   The benefit this brought to me in such a time of need gave me ample motivation to do my part in assisting this wonderful group.

Only through actively participating did I discover another benefit in volunteering: the wonderful community you are welcomed into. I have met some amazing and positive women with the same motivation and values. As a group, we have many talented women with a wide array of expertise and strengths. We have fun while making a difference. This is why I volunteer
